The Power of Choice.

The realization that life is short and that this is not a dress rehearsal can be an impetus for the Power of Choice.” Charles Marshall wrote in his book the Seven Powers of Success.

One of the most precious assets given to mankind is our power of choice and we should never surrender that power easily. In the beginning when God made Heaven and Earth God commanded Adam and Eve ” you may eat from any tree in the garden. But you must not eat from the tree that gives knowledge about good and evil.” They could choose. And they made their choice.

By that we can see how important it is to make the right choices for our lives. Everything in your life begins and ends with choice – your success, your dreams, your hopes of what life could be, all your disappointments of what your life has been, where you live, your lifestyle, your habits etc, all are deeply rooted in the Power of Choice.

If you are not consciously making decisions about your career, finances, family, health you are giving up your power and someone else will make those decisions for you. Some people would like to believe that putting off a decision indefinitely is an option. It is not. Time doesn’t stand still and before you know it, time has passed you by. We are constantly making decisions some consciously and some unconsciously.

Neglecting to plan for the future, we are ensuring that we will be a burden to someone else in our latter years.

To let someone drive drunk is to decide to endanger his life and the life of every other person he meets on the road.

By not standing up for yourself, you are choosing to let people take advantage of you.

When you do not educate or equip yourself to produce an income, you are choosing a life of financial struggle.

Let us re-examine ourselves and see how we can make better choices for our lives.

We cannot do anything about our past but we can definitely do something about our future. Let us take ownership of the choices we make on a daily basis and see how different life can be.
